Join us at the Congress of the European Polymer Federation (EPF) in Prague from the 26th of June to the 1st of July 2022. The invited talk on ‘Polymers for Advanced Membrane Separations in Organic Solvents’ will cover our latest research on the development of polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIM) and biopolymers for organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN).

We are participating in the Saudi Youth for Sustainability Inaugural Conference (SYS), held during 19-10 June 2022. Join us for the panel discussion on ‘Re-imagining the Role of Education on Sustainability’.
As the rate of environmental damages increases across the globe, youth will face the worst effects. However, instead of being passive victims, young people are taking action to fight for a greener future at an unprecedented level. Meanwhile, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is experiencing a historic transformation towards a prosperous future. Saudi youth have a tremendous opportunity to mobilize their efforts and skills to move the needle on the most ambitious economic, social, and environmental transformation. The theme of this year’s annual conference is Thriving Together, in which we explore how Saudi youth can be active contributors to vision 2030 through advocacy, education, and technology.

Featured Content: 3 talks at NAMS2022
We are participating in the 2022 meeting of the North American Membrane Society (NAMS), held during 14-18 May 2022. Gergo will talk about wired-lab organic solvent nanofiltration and whether machine learning is viable in this context. The topic of his presentation was partially published in two Journal of Membrane Science articles (1, 2). Rifan’s talk is about precision molecular sieving with MOF and CMP membranes in organic solvents. His article on MOF-OSN membranes was among the 2021 Journal of Materials Chemistry A most popular articles. Gyorgy‘s talk covers the recent achievements of the group on the development of green membranes for OSN using chitosan, priamine and date seed agricultural waste.

Featured Content: Journal cover for ACS-SCE
Check out our new article on upcycling shrimp farming waste into solvent-resistant thin-film composite membranes. The article was selected for the cover of ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering. Congratulations to Sang-Hee and Cong from the group, for putting this work together in a successful industrial collaboration with Nasser from Naqua. Special thanks to Zsolt Fulop, a visiting student from BUTE, who worked on the project during his internship. Read our interview on the project under ‘Shrimply the best composite membranes’ at KAUST Discovery.
